Meta-Deflectors Made of Dielectric Nanohole Arrays with Anti-Damage Potential

In intense-light systems, the traditional discrete optical components lead to high complexity and cost. Metasurfaces, which have received increasing attention due ability locally manipulate amplitude, phase, polarization of light, are promising for addressing this issue. study, a metasurface-based reflective deflector is investigated composed silicon nanohole arrays that confine strongest electric field in air zone. Subsequently, in-air does not interact with material directly, attenuating optothermal effect causes laser damage. The highest reflectance nanoholes can be above 99% while fields tuned into One presentative designed based on these in-air-hole confinement anti-damage potential. 1st order meta-deflector has 55.74%, sum all orders 92.38%. simulations show theoretically handle maximum density 0.24 W/µm2. study provides an approach improving property phase-control metasurfaces exploited many applications, such as scalpels, cutting devices, etc.
